If that is the case, this condensed three day exploration of jewelry
skills is your ideal solution. From simple beading to silversmithing
the wide array of classes will satisfy even the most experienced
jewelry maker.

and locally recognized artist Linda Hahn will start our weekend
by helping us understand The Meaning of Stone.

Class instruction will cover all basic information
needed to get started including finishing techniques for necklaces
and bracelets. Students will have the opportunity to design a one
of a kind Necklace or Bracelet. List of necessary materials and

and Pendants – Beading 201
Learn to create Earrings and Pendants using wire-wrapping

Spray Necklace

Knotting
Learn the age-old technique of Pearl Knotting using
a modern day device, a Tri-Cord Knotter. This technique may also
be used to create new interest to your current bead designs. Materials
list will be provided. Tri-Cord Knotter and one bobbin of thread
will be included. Class registration must be 10 days prior to scheduled
class to allow for the shipment for the Tri-Cord Knotter.

Shrink Bracelet
Looking for something different to enhance your beaded jewelry?
Learn the how to make bracelet components using artist grade shrink
plastic. Students will have the opportunity to complete several

Layered Pendant
In this class you will learn a simple process for etching copper
and brass along with several finishing techniques. You will
combine several etched pieces into a layered pendant that is
uniquely yours. A variety of ideas for incorporating etched

Metal Clay - PMC 101
Precious Metal Clay (PMC) is the alternate answer
to creating fine jewelry without metalsmithing. Students will learn
basic techniques for handling and finishing PMC from a certified
PMC instructor. Most pieces will be fired during the class remaining
pieces may be picked up at the store the following day. Tools will
be provided by instructor for sharing. Class registration must be
10 days before class to allow for ordering of materials. Students
registering after this time will be responsible to acquire their
own clay.

Metal Clay Hollow Forms

Create gorgeous pendants and beads of fine silver
using PMC. In this class you will learn to expand your PMC skills
for dimension, lightness, and efficient clay use. Texturing and
finishing techniques will help you to produce pieces unique to you.
Students will have the opportunity to finish at least one piece.
Depending on time, piece(s) may not be fired in class; pieces will
be available for pick-up the following day. Class registration must

Knitting
Knitting is not just for yarn…come to this
exciting class and learn the ancient art of Viking Knitting. Instead
of needles and fiber, this technique uses Sterling Silver, Gold
Filled or Art wire. You will learn how to loop the wire into a tube
of silver and transform it into a bracelet. List of necessary materials
and tools will be provided.

Weave Bracelet
Further
your bead weaving experience by learning this net cable weave
bracelet that does not require a clasp. Use needle and thread,
seed beads and Czech fire polish beads to create a bracelet
woven a bit larger to roll onto your wrist. Time will not
permit completion of the piece during the class; however,
you’ll have a good start.

Swarovski crystals with this woven pendants. This weaving
class will teach you the basic square stitch without the need
of a loom. Not all students will be able to complete the project,

How to successfully sell at Arts/Craft
Shows
If you are considering the plunge into arts & crafts shows
here is a way to get a head start. This seminar style class
is designed to show you the ins and outs of retail and wholesale
shows. You will learn the how to’s of show applications,
displays, credit card sales, selling your product, license
requirements, collecting sales tax, etc…. Although the
focus will be on jewelry, questions will be answered for other
arts as well. By the end of the seminar you will know how
to prepare for the upcoming season and what to anticipate
for your first show. Materials: Paper and pen to take

Design
Challenges
Beading 102 is geared to helping you develop a different
perspective on your current designs. Students will be challenged
to re-develop their designs, and the designs of fellow students.
Those attending the class should have an open mind, and prepared
for constructive criticism. Students will not have the opportunity
to finish their work. Materials: Each student is asked to bring
a selection of their bead collection and 3 pieces of existing work
that may be cut for redesign. A complete list of materials will

CLASS SPECIFICS
Classes
are instructed by artisans skilled in the craft of beading. Their
work is on display at Bead Q! for review.
Not all classes
include materials, please inquire at time of registration for details.
Some
tools are available for sharing. Students are asked to purchase necessary
materials and tools prior to the start of each class.
Classes
over 3 hours will allow for breaks. All day classes will allow for
1 hour lunch breaks. Please consider bringing a snack classes 3
hours and under.
Registration
for classes may be made at the store or by phone. All classes require
advance registration in order to allow time for ordering supplies.
Classes must be paid in full at the time of registration. Cancellation
must be made no less than 36 hours before the beginning of the class
for a full refund. Cancellations made after 72 hours will result
in a $20 non-refundable charge. Classes may be cancelled for insufficient
sign-ups.
